old law tenement (brownstone type)
1.Note the 3 window front, occupied tenement
2.No front fire escape, most likely one in rear due to amount of apartments (at least 3 if 3-story buiild and 4 if a four story building)
3.fire in the two window room with extension to the dead-mans room
4.picture does not tell you the amount of stories, but knowing the area, I would guess it is a three or four story building.
5. Since there are no ladders showing, the truck may not be in as yet. the tree in front of the building will impede ladder placement to most rooms.
6. Fire is well vented, could be a caused by an open interior door or open rear windows.
7. Reports from truck ovm in rear will tell a lot.
8. Roof may have a bulkhead of four story, but probably has a scuttle and roof level skylight.
9.access to the fire apartment will be in rear of building (kitchen)
10. a check for extension is a must on the floor(s) above and exposure 4.
11. The front door will have two sets of doors, each door will have a plate glass insert. the doors should be chocked open and the glass not broken (hazardous)
12 Straight run stair to the second floor and a 180 degree turn inside the apartment to fight the fire.
13. Apartment probably about four rooms deep from front to rear.
14 most likely, Tin ceilings in the kitchen
15 Possiblity of having a transom over the doors into the apartment (old buildings are known for this)
16 Forcible entry not a problem, front door is open, and the apratment door is either wood or metal in a wood jamb (frame)
